It's Carol here again to tell you what's new at Video Magic.

First of all I would like to update you on my fathers cancer. We went this week for his chest biopsy and we received some really good news. The spots that the doctor was seeing in my fathers chest area was not cancer. He has a condition called sarcoidosis. This is an inflammation of the chest wall. This condition can be treated with steroids and is not deadly in most cases. He still has the cancer in his neck lymph node but the cancer doctor has told us that he has a really good chance of surviving the cancer since it has not spread into his lungs. I really feel that prayers have been answered. Just last week they were telling us that it really looked like the cancer had spread to my dads lungs and that his condition was fatal. But in just a matter of one week we have got such a different prognosis that it has to be prayer that has worked for my father. I would like to thank everyone that has taken the time to pray for my father and my family.

Well now lets get back to movies. There has been several good movies that have came out in the past couple of weeks and of course I am going to tell you about them.

Inside Man: This was a really good action movie with some really good actors in it.

Academy Award winners Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster and Academy Award nominee Clive Owen star in this intense and explosive crime thriller.

The perfect bank robbery quickly spirals into an unstable and deadly game of cat-and-mouse between a criminal mastermind (Owen), a determined detective (Washington), and a power broker with a hidden agenda (Foster). As the minutes tick by and the situation becomes increasingly tense, one wrong move could mean disaster for any one of them.

From acclaimed director Spike Lee comes the edge-of-your-seat, action-packed thriller that Wall St. Journal is calling "a heist film that's right on the money."

I would like to give this one a We Recommend !!

Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector : This is a really funny movie. A bit cheesy but still funny. If you like silly comedy, you are sure to enjoy this movie.

Irreverent as ever, Larry plays a big city health inspector who’s happy with his usual beat of greasy spoon diners and low-rent ethnic restaurants. But his easygoing life is turned upside-down when he’s saddled with a straight-arrow rookie partner (Iris Bahr) and assigned the biggest case of his career: investigating an outbreak of mysterious food poisonings at the city’s swankiest restaurants.

Infuriating restaurateurs with his bad manners, Larry still manages to charm a sweet, shy waitress (Megyn Price) into a budding romance. But when his unorthodox methods cost him his job, Larry has to go undercover to bring the conspirators to justice and ‘Git-R-Done!’

This one deserves a Salyer Family We Recommend !!

She's the Man: My two daughters watched this one and they said that it was really really funny. So if you need a good laugh you need to watch this one.

It's hard enough being the nerdy new guy on campus without also being the new girl on campus, who has fallen for the coolest guy on campus, who is totally obsessed with the most beautiful girl on campus, who is "crushing" on the nerdy new guy on campus.

Viola Johnson (Amanda Bynes) had her own good reasons for disguising herself as her twin brother Sebastian (James Kirk) and enrolling in his place at his new boarding school, Illyria Prep. She was counting on Sebastian being AWOL from school as he tried to break into the music scene in London.

What she didn't count on was falling in love with her hot roommate, Duke (Channing Tatum), who in turn only has eyes for the beautiful Olivia (Laura Ramsey). Making matters worse, Olivia is starting to fall for Sebastian, who-for reasons Olivia couldn't begin to guess-appears to be the sensitive type of guy she'd always dreamed of meeting.

If things weren't complicated enough, the real Sebastian has come back from London two days earlier than expected and arrives on campus having no clue that he's been replaced by his own twin sister.

The Salyer Sisters give this one a really Big We Recommend !!

ATL: My daughter Amber watched this one and she said that it was good. If is more for the teen rapping crowd.

ATL tells the story of four teens coming of age in a working class Atlanta neighborhood where hip-hop music and roller skating rule. As the group prepares for life after high school, challenges on and off the rink bring about turning points in each of their lives. The film is loosely based on Dallas Austin and Tionne Watkins' experiences growing up in Atlanta and hanging out at a local skating rink called Jellybeans.

Amber gives this one a We Recommend !!

As always I would like to thank you for renting your movies and games at Video Magic. We really do appreciate your business. Without our customers, there would be no Video Magic.

Have a wonderful rest of the week.

Your friend at Video Magic,

Carol Salyer

Trivia Answer

Answer To Trivia

The careers of Denzel Washington and Spike Lee have intertwined on four separate occasions. The first was Lee's 1990 film Mo' Better Blues. Two years later, Washington took the title role in Malcolm X. The pair then teamed up for He Got Game.

Now, eight years after 'Game,' the duo of Oscar-winning actor and acclaimed director reunite for Inside Man. Washington is a cop trying to stop a very dangerous bank heist. Jodie Foster and Clive Owen co-star in Lee's latest. Watch this taut thriller today; it's now on DVD.
