Mark Wahlberg was first known as the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg of the super-successful pop group New Kids on the Block. Choosing to make name for himself, Wahlberg -- going by Marky Mark -- started the hip-hop group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. They had a number one hit in 1991 with the song "Good Vibrations".

Wahlberg started his foray in to acting with the small, made-for-TV movie The Substitute in 1993. He made his first big screen appearance in Renaissance Man (1994) along side Danny DeVito. He earned superstar status by nabbed an Oscar nomination this year for his performance in The Departed.

Wahlberg's latest is Shooter. Michael Pena and Kate Mara co-star in this action-thriller. Watch it today on DVD.
